DESCRIPTION:
APW - South Bend, The Studebaker, Grade 329, 21J, 18S, nickel OF display recase, Montgomery white enamel DS dial with Canadian market 13 to 24 hour indications and with large script signature having trailing tail beneath, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, nickel damascene, s#579655. The dial of this watch is quite rare; we have only seen a small number of examples of the Canadian 24 hour version of this Montgomery dial with large script signature.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticking with slight error in the round and flat of balance motion, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates with scattered fine to micro-fine scratches having their greatest concentration around case screw adjacent barrel bridge, very minor oxide to regulator assembly; dial with patched edge chip between 7 and 8, some outer chapter hls, few fine surface scratches to left side of outer chapter, tiny patched chip to inner corner of outer chapter above 7, small patched edge chip under bezel at 11, light hand rub to outer chapter, few negligible edge flecks under bezel; nearly mint hands; case shows little wear, speckles of tarnish throughout, many scattered short fine scratches along band, no dents or dings; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystals.
